It is of primary importance to find effective and optimal ICT system to enhance well being of communities in rural areas to maximize the benefits of this technology. Related problems will include finding innovative network infrastructures, affordable computing, effective software applications, and sustainability policy scheme, social, economics, and regulation issues.
This year conference, The r-ICT2011 places special emphasis on the application of Information and Commmunication Technology in education and health sector in rural areas. This will be a great opportunity for researchers, practitioners, policy makes, and anyone who are interested in any aspect of rural information and communication technologies, education and health informatics to share their ideas and to build a strong network among each others. All submitted papers will be blindly perr-reviewed by international experts and selected outstanding papers will be invited for a publications in a Special Issue of the ITB Journal on ICT and/or internationally published book chapters.
